Ex - WO2 Luther Davies

Reg Sec SASC regrets to inform SASC Comrades of the death of Luther Davies on 11th August 2008.

Luther joined the Sherwood Forresters at the outbreak of WWII. After Dunkirk, and although wounded, he escaped back to UK after making his way to Brest and onto the last transporter to evacuate from France.

He subsequently transferred to the SASC as an instructor at Netheravon and left the army in 1946. Recent Journals have highlighted a book he wrote and his exhibitions of paintings, and this year his 90th Brithday also featured.

A Crematorium Service took place on 22nd August at Haycombe Crematorium, Bath. The Corps and Comrades Association were represented by Lt Col Chris Wood, Mrs Wood, Major (Retd) Norman Benson, Major (Retd) Steve Stephens and Mrs Stephens, and Capt (Retd) David Cuthbertson.
