Reg Sec SASC regrets to inform SASC comrades of the death John who died peacefully at home on Tuesday 12th February 2008

John joined the SASC in 1958 from the Royal Inniskillin Fusiliers and served at Hythe, later at Netheravon on the Mortar Division, and at outstations. He finished in 1978 as SMI at Sandhurst.

His 'after-service' life included a civilian contract training the Shooting Team of the Sultan's Armed Forces during which he had the honorary status of Muqaddam (Lt Col).

He was closely involved each year with the Hythe Remembrance Reunion arrangements.

A Funeral Service took place at Hythe on Monday 25th February, followed by cremation at Charing Crematorium.

The Comrades Association was represented by the Regimental Secretary and many Comrades attended from many parts of the country.
