Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of Lieutenant General P R Newton CBE, Comd FDT as Colonel Commandant Small Arms School Corps in succession to Major General A C P Kennett. This appointment took effect on 1 July 2011

WO1 Promotions

REGIMENTAL SECRETARY/OIC SASC & INFANTRY WEAPONS COLLECTION

After the third submission to the Land Forces Central Manpower Committee, HQ SASC has been denied the opportunity to fill the post of Regimental Secretary and OIC Weapons Collection. Until further notice the following will cover these appointments:

COMRADES SECRETARY

Due to the post of Regimental Secretary not being filled, HQ SASC are looking for a comrade to take up a role as Comrades Secretary. He would have the following responsibilities:

1. Be the point of contact for HQ SASC and Comrades on all comrade matters.

2. Maintain, Update and increase the Comrades database.

3. Ensure all Comrades were kept up to date on relevant SASC matters.

4. Consolidate Comrade returns for functions.

5. Visit HQ SASC on a monthly basis for a brief and to back brief.

This would be a voluntary post but all expenses would be covered.
