SASC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2007

The 2007 Championship took place on Wednesday 29 August at Orchardleigh Golf Club, Frome after being postponed due to being 'washed out' by the Friday 20th July storms.

With a reduced entry, and as only an 18 hole competition, the weather was dry with cloudy or sunny intervals. A perfect afternoon for golf.

The 1st from the tee

After the rain this year the course fairways were in lovely condition and the greens were 'superfast'. The prizegiving at the Golf Club followed a beautifully prepared roast beef and yorkshire pudding supper during which the Ryder Cup was displayed on the screen - just to remind everyone of how golf can be played.Major Cleminson teeing off the 1st

Five groups of three teed off starting on the 1st from 1330 hours. The results speak for themselves and the photo gallery gives a 'flavour' of the day, which for some started with their travel at 0600hrs. Two from Yorkshire and others from Hythe, Kent.

More photographs will be published in Man At Arms 2008 Edition.
